Resumen: A lo largo del siglo XIX las transformaciones en el ámbito de lo mitológico se caracterizan esencialmente por dos fenómenos: la muerte de Dios y la revitalización de las diosas precristianas en sus formas seductoras y maléficas sobre todo. La representación de las ambivalencias de lo femenino va fuertemente ligada a la angustia mas culina ante las inseguridades respecto del sentido sinsentido de la experiencia del sujeto en un mundo que se transforma a gran velocidad. Esa angustia tiene también una manifestación humorística, la cual se evidencia de forma muy elocuente en las exposiciones que el grupo de artistas Incoherentes realizaron en París entre 1882 y 1893.

Throughout the 19thCentury the transformations in the field of mythology characterised essentially by two phenomena: the God's death and the revitalisation of the pre Christian goddesses in their seductive and malefic forms overall. The representation of the ambivalence regarding the feminine is linked to the masculine anxiety. Anxiety which refers to the insecurities with regard to the sense nonsense of the subject's experience in a world that is transforming very fast This anxiety has also a humoristic manifestation which is eloquently shown in the exhibitions that the artists' group The Incoherents made in Paris between 1882 and 1893.
