La capilla de San Dionís de la catedral de Tudela y su exorno artístico

Resumen: La capilla de San Dionís de la catedral de Santa María de Tudela, situada en la galería oriental del claustro, fue desde el siglo xv la sede de la cofradía del mismo nombre. Ello motivó una serie de remodelaciones en la estructura arquitectónica para adecuarla a su nuevo uso. Este espacio fue dotado con diferentes bienes muebles, como una sillería gótica, tallada por Pedro de Navascués, y un retablo barroco con el busto del santo titular, que policromó en 1711 el pintor Juan Lucas de Olleta y albergó posteriormente otras tallas, como un Cristo crucificado, vinculado estilísticamente con piezas de autoría aragonesa.
San Dionís’s chapel of the cathedral of Tudela’s Santa Maria, placed in the eastern gallery of the cloister, was from the 15th century the seat of the confraternity of the same name. This motivated a series of renovations in the architectural structure to adapt it to its new use. This space that was also endowed with different furniture and objects, as Gothic choir stalls, carved by Pedro de Navascués, and a Baroque altarpiece with the bust of the patron saint, which was polychromed in 1711 by the painter Juan Lucas Olleta. It later received other carvings, such as a crucified Christ, linked stylistically with pieces of Aragonese authorship.
