El interés hacia la Guerra Civil durante los años de la transición: las claves generacionales de su mercado cultural

Resumen: El presente trabajo plantea la hipótesis de que el interés y la curiosidad por conocer el pasado reciente de España (la historia de la República, la Guerra Civil, el exilio y el franquismo), durante los años sesenta y setenta del siglo XX, habrían nacido asociados al surgimiento de una “postmemoria” de la Guerra: la de quienes siendo niños durante los años del conflicto y de la posguerra, solo conservaban de este vislumbres lejanas, elementos de memoria familiar y mensajes del franquismo, y deseaban un conocimiento fidedigno del mismo. Para tal análisis hemos examinado, primero, los cambios en la memoria de los españoles, acontecidos entre los años sesenta y comienzos de los ochenta, y después diversas manifestaciones culturales del período del tardofranquismo y la Transición, sobre todo el libro histórico y de testimonios, donde es posible detectar esa naciente curiosidad.
In this work we shall suggest the hypothesis that interest and curiosity in the recent past of Spain (the history of the Republic, the Civil War, the exile, and the Francoism), during the 1960s and 1970s, would have revolved around the emergence of a “postmemory” of the Civil War: the one of those who, children during the years of the conflict and the postwar period, only kept glimpses, family memory narratives, and messages from Francoism, but wished a faithful knowledge of it. To that purpose we have examined first the changes in memories of the Spanish people, taken place between the 1960s and the early 1980s, and then different cultural scenes, especially that of the historical and memory book, where that emergent curiosity might be detected.
